The Fund

One mandate. One nation.

The Scotland Fund is a private investment platform dedicated exclusively to Scotland, targeting £10 billion of investment by 2035 across energy, infrastructure, real assets, luxury hospitality and hyperscale AI data centre developments. Its founding team unites three distinct strengths: Omar Arfan's entrepreneurial drive, institutional relationships and unique access to large-scale opportunities across Scotland; Pierre Lagrange's three decades at the summit of European alternative asset management as co-founder of GLG Partners; and Peregrine Moncreiffe's four decades in the City of London and on Wall Street, combined with a thousand years of Scottish lineage. The team is further strengthened by one of the most senior figures in UK luxury brands, who leads the Fund's luxury hospitality investments, and by the former Group Chief Executive of one of Abu Dhabi's and the Gulf's largest banks, who chairs the Fund's GCC exposure and relationships. Together, they work closely with major institutions and partner with the world's best firms in every vertical in which the Fund invests, bringing capital, expertise and execution of global calibre to Scotland. The team is based between Scotland, London, Jersey and Monaco.

Mr Omar Arfan

Founder & Chief Executive

Omar Arfan is the Founder and Chief Executive of the Scotland Fund, the private investment platform he established to deploy capital at a scale not previously seen in Scotland from a single privately held vehicle. He leads the Fund's strategy, origination and partnerships across energy, infrastructure, real assets, luxury hospitality and hyperscale AI data centre developments.

A Scottish entrepreneur, Omar has founded and led a series of consumer businesses, building a track record of generating returns in fiercely competitive categories. That operating experience underpins the Fund's approach to next-generation consumer brands, where it works alongside some of the most recognisable names in global entertainment and consumer companies valued in the billions.

An entrepreneur's conviction that Scotland's moment has arrived.

Omar is an alumnus of the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he chaired the LSE Founders' Club.

Mr Arfan has strong relationships with the world's largest institutional investors and unique access to large-scale, targeted opportunities in Scotland. He is the youngest ever member of the British Asian Trust Founders' Circle, under the patronage of His Majesty King Charles III.

Mr Pierre Lagrange

Founding Team

Pierre Lagrange is one of Europe's most accomplished alternative asset managers. Born in Belgium, he trained as a business engineer, earning undergraduate and master's degrees in economics from the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, before beginning his career at J.P. Morgan and Goldman Sachs.

In 1995 he co-founded GLG Partners with Noam Gottesman and Jonathan Green, initially as a division of Lehman Brothers. Under his stewardship GLG grew into one of the defining hedge fund franchises of its generation, becoming independent in 2000, listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007, and being acquired by Man Group in 2010 for US$1.6 billion. Pierre co-managed the firm's flagship European long-short equity strategy. Today, Man GLG manages over US$35 billion in assets.

Three decades at the summit of European hedge fund investing.

Beyond finance, Pierre is a noted steward of British luxury. In 2013 he acquired Huntsman, the celebrated Savile Row tailor, and has led its revival as a modern global house while preserving its heritage of craft. He is also a respected collector of modern and contemporary art. At the Scotland Fund, he brings institutional investment discipline, portfolio construction expertise and an exacting eye for luxury brands.
